Community Voices: Jacquelyn Redmond

None of us alone can save the nation or the world. But each of us can make a positive difference if we commit ourselves to do so.”

~ Dr. Cornel West

I have found that, in a world where there is so much going on — and it can feel daunting at times — I am grateful for the privilege of volunteering with My Life My Choice, the leading survivor-led nonprofit in the fight against the commercial sexual exploitation of children. Volunteering as a Turn on the Light Host Committee Chair, Advisory Board Member, and Peer Fundraiser over the past nine years has been an immensely rewarding experience.

Whether I have one minute to donate, thirty minutes to start a Peer Fundraising campaign, or more time to volunteer on a committee, I am rewarded by the knowledge that my efforts of any size are making a positive difference in this world. Contributing time, resources, and effort to My Life My Choice is guaranteed to help their incredible community, led by Survivor Mentors, make a transformative impact in children’s lives. I feel honored to be able to help in any way, big or small.

I love being a part of the extraordinary My Life My Choice community of employees and volunteers who also share a passion for helping children and fighting exploitation. The world needs us each to do our part to make change, for good! At a time that can be very isolating and frightening, I highly encourage everyone to join the incredible, life-changing community at My Life My Choice by donating, volunteering, and getting involved!
