Video Series for Foster Parents Made in Collaboration with DCF

My Life My Choice (MLMC), in collaboration with Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF), has developed a series of videos geared towards foster parents in order to increase insight and skill building for caregivers of children and youth who are at risk of or who have been trafficked.

The content of these videos was developed through research on current published literature as well as:

  • Interviews with foster parents

  • Testimony from youth living in foster care who have experienced trafficking

  • DCF Staff

  • Other providers working with foster parents

The series consist of 9-videos on the topics of: welcoming youth, safety, understanding, language, advocacy, youth ageing, labor trafficking, other vulnerable populations, and social media. Below is a highlight video featuring snapshots from each topic.

If you would like to learn more or access the full series, please contact Nikki Valila, Senior Director of Training and Partnerships, at nvalila@jri.org.
